Can a man ever forget his past? Can’t someone be forgiven for their sins if they, OK, sure, once tried to subjugate all of humanity and worked for a big evil space grape but, most importantly, also truly changed their spots by saving the multiverse and becoming… I don’t know, God or something (it’s kinda unclear)? In the case of Marvel’s Loki, aka the God of Mischief himself Tom Hiddleston, the answer is apparently no.

The MCU has taught us that wherever Asgardians go terrible storms tend to follow, on account of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor being the god of hammers lightning, and now it seems this trope has crossed over into real life, too. Poor Hiddleston has been blamed for causing the storm that cut out the power in a pub, which he happened to be drinking in at the time.

The 43-year-old star — who shares a child with his fiancee, fellow MCU performer Zawe Ashton — went for a meal with friends and family at The Pub With No Name in Hampshire this week. Unfortunately for Hiddleston and his fellow diners, Storm Darragh — which just raged its way through the U.K. — decided then was the perfect time to strike, framing him for a bit of Loki-like trickery.

Laura Walsha, a kitchen porter for the pub, told BBC News that she jokingly accused the star of being responsible, telling “him that he caused the chaos.” The actor, she recalled, “utterly denied it of course, but I wasn’t convinced.” To be fair, it is a little suspicious that the storm only struck after Hiddleston and his party had already gotten their meals. “Obviously it put an end to our normal service because we couldn’t keep the kitchen running but Tom managed to finish his dinner,” Walsha added.

According to BBC News, Walsha explained that the pub’s staff lit candles and had a fire blazing to help the patrons enjoy the rest of their food and their drinks before they got themselves safely back indoors. Honestly, that sounds like how they used to do it on Asgard, so Hiddleston probably felt right at home.

When he’s not asking his brother to play pranks on innocent pubs, Hiddleston has been busy starring in horror maestro Mike Flanagan’s latest movie, The Life of Chuck, based on the Stephen King novella of the same name. If that trifecta of talent wasn’t enough to entice, then how about the fact that it co-stars the likes of Karen Gillan, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mark Hamill? That one is on its way to theaters in May 2025.

As for his much-anticipated return as Loki, remember that the character is in his time tree era right now, so live-action appearances may be limited for the foreseeable future, unless Avengers: Doomsday can make that right. If animation floats your boat, though, then you’re in luck, as Hiddleston will be lending his voice to an animated variant of the Asgardian in What If…? season 3, dropping daily on Disney Plus starting Dec. 22.

‘There’s no promises’: A young Marvel star who became homeless shares major update after video goes viral https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/theres-no-promises-a-young-marvel-star-who-became-homeless-shares-major-update-after-video-goes-viral/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/theres-no-promises-a-young-marvel-star-who-became-homeless-shares-major-update-after-video-goes-viral/#respond Wed, 04 Dec 2024 22:54:18 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1804900 “I don’t know what you guys have done but it’s gotten out there."]]>

Just hours after revealing that he was homeless, Loki actor Jack Veal has told fans that he’s been in touch with social services, who will meet with him to discuss plans for foster care.

In case you missed it, Veal — who starred opposite Tom Hiddleston as the young version of Loki in the Marvel show’s first season — took to social media this week to detail his struggles with homelessness at just 17 years old. In a TikTok video, Veal introduced himself as a “famous actor,” saying he has been “sleeping on the streets” and is currently living in a trailer in London. The actor said his homeless status was the result of the abuse he suffered at his former home, which he described as “physical violence [and] emotional abuse.”

“I didn’t have a very good upbringing,” he added in the video. “I struggle with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis.” Veal went on to reveal that he couldn’t stay at his grandparents’ house due to his grandfather’s terminal illness, before issuing a plea for help from his followers. “I have nowhere else to go, and I need help… I am desperate,” he said. At the time, Veal said he had been refused social services in his area, telling fans to “spread the message of how the government [is] treating kids.”

Now, it seems help is finally on the horizon, with Veal revealing in a follow-up video that social services have since been in contact with him to organize “a meeting with me to potentially get me into foster care and supported accommodation.” The actor appeared gleeful as he shared the news, and thanked his supporters for spreading word of his call for help. “I don’t know what you guys have done but it’s gotten out there,” the actor said. “It has really, really helped me.”

Veal — who has also appeared in movies like The Favourite and The End of the F***ing World — said it was “the first time [social services] have considered me for accommodation,” and shared his gratitude that the governmental body was “actually doing something.” Veal assured fans that while “there’s no promises” as to the outcome of his meeting with social services, he would still keep them up to date on his process of finding a home.

It comes as welcome news for those who were troubled by Veal’s original video, in which he documented his current living conditions in a trailer in London. The clip showed the tight quarters in which he was staying, with broken windows exposed to the elements (Veal said it “gets chilly”), a lack of storage to hold his belongings, and no electricity. His original video was flooded with messages of support from fans, who offered him advice on housing support options, shared their similar experiences with homelessness, and sent well-wishes.

Some viewers even extended offers for Veal to stay in their spare bedrooms. Alongside his acting gigs, Veal works as a personal trainer and running coach. Veal was one of multiple Loki castmates mentioned by Hiddleston during his acceptance speech for the Male TV Star award at the People’s Choice Awards in 2021. “Thanks a lot for the shout out,” Veal wrote of his co-star’s speech, “means a lot.” Loki ran for two seasons with a series finale that brought an end to the title character’s story, though Marvel has yet to reveal whether a third installment might still be on the horizon.

Landing a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially playing a variant of one of the franchise’s most popular characters, might sound like the fast-track to everlasting success on paper, but one MCU star has now come clean about needing help after becoming homeless and “sleeping in the streets.”

17-year-old British actor Jack Veal, most known to anyone with a Disney Plus account as Kid Loki in the smash-hit Marvel Studios TV series Loki, has posted a heartbreaking plea to his TikTok account in which he opens up about being homeless and “desperate” for assistance after moving out of his family home for his own safety.

“I haven’t mentioned much about what’s been going on in my life, but I think it’s time to reveal the truth,” Veal told his followers. “Without delving too much into the details, I was abused at home. It was physical violence, emotional abuse, and etcetera. I didn’t have a very good upbringing. I struggle with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis.”

The teen admitted that he can’t stay with his grandparents at this time because his grandfather is “terminal unwell.” Veal confessed, “I have nowhere else to go, and I need help. Social services refuses to help me despite what I have told them. I am desperate.”

After stressing that he’s been forced to sleep on the streets on occasion, Veal explained that he’s “currently sleeping in a trailer that has smashed-in windows, is unsafe, is two hours away from my work, which means I struggle to get to work every day.”

Veal concluded his message by emphasizing that he wasn’t asking his fans “to pay me anything. I don’t need anything. I just need you to make this go as viral as possible.” Instead, he wishes to spread awareness of what he and other people his age, who have been let down by the system, have to endure:

“It’s difficult. Life is hard. At the moment, I have nothing else. I am on my knees begging for you guys to just share this, do something, spread the message of how the government are treating kids.”

Once it quickly went viral, Veal’s video resulted in an outpouring of support from the TikTok community and social media in general. In a follow-up, the actor shared his heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered to send him money or even let him stay with them. Again, however, Veal maintained that he is not looking for any personal donations or offers of aid from individuals.

“The objective here is to get help from the people who are supposed to provide it, social services,” Veal stated. “If I have to hop from place to place, there will never be any stability in my life. In the state that I’m in, I need stability.”

In the short-term, Veal shared that, thanks to his video gaining steam, he was able to stay with a friend for a night, although this wasn’t a permanent solution and he’s now returned to his trailer.

Veal entered the MCU in the first season of Loki, appearing as Kid Loki in its fourth and fifth episodes, sharing the screen with such major stars as Tom Hiddleton and Richard E. Grant. The End of the F***ing World actor was expected to have a grand future in the franchise given that Kid Loki is one of the Young Avengers in the comics, but to date there haven’t been any rumblings of a return for his character, much to fan disappointment. Veal’s last screen credit to date came in 2022’s Prime Video series The Peripheral, opposite Chloë Grace Moretz.

Loki has been finished for an entire year, but we’re only now getting a new deleted scene, which has us punching the air wishing for what could have been.

Season 2 of the Disney Plus Marvel Studios show started airing in October of 2023 and concluded later that year, giving fans the final chapter for one of the MCU’s most loved characters. Not to mention one of the best MCU spinoff shows that we’ve had yet.

Now, Variety has revealed a scene that was cut from the finished product of Loki season 2 where the titular character is having a conversation with Mobius and name-drops several Marvel characters, including one that looks to factor massively into the next Thor movie.

https://twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1861487529855217994

During his time recalling encounters that Loki has had with other characters, he mentions Hercules, the God of Strength teased to appear at the end of Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, given this scene was cut, it would suggest that Loki and Hercules never met up inside of the MCU, so don’t expect any callbacks during the next Thor movie.

Other characters that Loki recalls encountering include Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Jane Foster, Amora, and Donald Blake — the moniker that Thor takes on when disguising himself on Earth.

In the post-credits scene for Thor: Love and Thunder we see Hercules called upon to find and kill Thor after the God of Thunder took down Zeus. That’s the only time we’ve ever seen Hercules, who is played by Brett Goldstein in the MCU, but it suggests he will be coming back to stop Thor in whatever he does next.

Of course, we all would have loved to see Loki and Hercules come face-to-face on screen, but the likelihood of that doesn’t seem promising. Even with this mention during the show, it wouldn’t have been likely that we’d ever actually get to see it.

The deleted scene shared by Variety comes from the 4K UHD Steelbook release of Loki, which is set to arrive on Dec. 2, 2024.

It’s important to note that there’s no real news on Thor 5 right now or whether it would bring back Hercules after teasing him at the conclusion of the last film, though we speculate that if they do another movie for the Marvel hero, then it will more than likely pick up from there. If they don’t give Thor a fifth film, then fans will have to settle for knowing that when he came to face-to-face with Loki the God of Mischief was “a big problem for him.”

Marvel teases Loki is yet to find his ‘glorious purpose’ – so what is bigger than God of Mischief sacrificing himself to save the multiverse? https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/marvel-teases-loki-is-yet-to-find-his-glorious-purpose-so-what-is-bigger-than-god-of-mischief-sacrificing-himself-to-save-the-multiverse/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/marvel-teases-loki-is-yet-to-find-his-glorious-purpose-so-what-is-bigger-than-god-of-mischief-sacrificing-himself-to-save-the-multiverse/#respond Mon, 11 Nov 2024 10:12:44 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1788360 The door seems to be open, if only slightly.]]>

It’s been more than a year since Loki‘s second season wrapped up and, surprisingly not a lot has happened inside the MCU. But then perhaps that’s understandable for Loki himself, who’s now working hard to hold together the Sacred Timeline.

At the end of Loki, we see Tom Hiddleston’s character drop the monicker of God of Mischief and take on a new role as the God of Stories, a title which can only be earned by devoting his existence to bringing together the Sacred Timeline and stopping any divergence from taking place.

By all accounts, this is the final chapter of Loki’s story, as it appears he literally can’t leave his post or chaos ensues. However, this is Marvel and now executives have started to open the door, if only slightly, for the idea of a third season.

“There’s always a chance,” Marvel Studios Head of Streaming Brad Winderbaum said in an interview with CinePOP at D23 Brazil 2024. This brief statement would suggest that opinions on the series have changed in the 12 months since it finished. At the time of its conclusion, all seemed to be over, and Hiddleston was celebrating the finale as the end of a 14-year journey for himself, and Loki as a character.

https://twitter.com/FallonTonight/status/1723201804324774090

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in November of 2023, Hiddleston explained how Loki emerged into the MCU filled with glorious purpose, but throughout his story, he learned that this was all a fallacy. This forced him to discover a new purpose which, ironically, gave him the incredible power he desired but very little opportunity to do anything with it.

It’s important to note that just because a Marvel Studios executive says they’re open to doing more Loki doesn’t mean it will happen, so don’t get your hopes up until there is some official word regarding the show. However, it’s fun to speculate what could come next for Loki.

Bringing Loki back for Season 3 would need to be one tied into the greater MCU events—and this didn’t go well for the series the first time. Fortunately, instead of relying on Kang, Deadpool 3 already attached itself to the TVA which means that they are still a large presence in the franchise.

Perhaps something happening at the TVA could force Loki to leave his post, but this would have major implications and cause the death of several timelines. More likely, a third season could be a sort of spin-off with other characters from the show as the central story. This would seem like the only real way to get a third season but it’s not the only way the character could return to the MCU.

The multiverse is well and truly open and as we know there’s a lot of Lokis out there. When we get to the next Avengers film perhaps the multiverse could open and result in a new Loki making their way into the mix, who knows? All we know is that we want more Loki, whether that’s with another season of his show or back in the MCU.

Ask the ardent Asgardian addicts out there, and they’d probably say the MCU’s Multiverse Saga has never topped the Loki TV series. Not only does it sport the strongest character arc of any of Marvel’s Disney Plus show, transforming the franchise’s original big bad into a self-sacrificing hero, but it’s also key to expanding and establishing the concept of the multiverse. Well, Loki lovers, you’re in luck, because some fresh content for the former God of Mischief/current God of Time is coming your way real soon.

Disney Plus has announced another wave of 4K Steelbooks for its most popular Marvel and Star Wars series. As we know, it’s rare for streaming shows to receive any kind of physical copy, so these select releases are cherished by fans. The four on their way this December include The Mandalorian season 3, Ahsoka season 1, Hawkeye season 1, and Loki season 2. The good news is that the Loki release will come with a bumper crop of special features, including some must-see deleted scenes. Lokius shippers, Disney’s got your back.

Loki and Mobius return for all-new scenes in rare Marvel Studios release

Loki season 2 steelbook

As well as all eight episodes of the acclaimed sophomore run of the hit series, as realized in 4K UHD with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, the Loki – The Complete Second Season includes a brand-new featurette, a gag reel, and three new deleted/extended scenes. The featurette should be a highlight as it sees Tom Hiddleton and Kevin Feige take a look at Loki’s entire timeline across the MCU, so expect some interesting insight into the character we may not have received before.

Titled “Loki Through Time,” the featurette’s synopsis reads: “Travel through over a decade of Loki’s timeline with Tom Hiddleston, Kevin Feige and more as they dive deeper into the villainous yet lovable character that fans can’t get enough of in the Loki series.”

As for the deleted scenes, these promise more of your favorite characters, including Loki himself, Sophie DiMartino’s Sylvie, and Owen Wilson’s Mobius. Here’s what they have in store:

 • What Would You Like? — Distraught after the events of season 1, Sylvie leaves the Citidel at the End of Time and finds an escape in a McDonalds in 1982.
 • Key Lime Break — Loki and Mobius share a moment savoring a key lime pie in the TVA lunchroom.
 • Roll Call — Loki names off all the people who have spoken ill of him in the past, including a few recognizable names. Mobius tries to comfort him.

Last but not least, the Steelbook also includes the Marvel Studios Assembled documentary, The Making of Loki Season 2, which can also be found on Disney Plus.

While the future of Loki in the MCU remains unclear, given that he’s basically the god of the Sacred Timeline at this point, at least we know that we’re getting a precious few minutes of fresh material of the character come Dec. 3. Make them last, folks, because we don’t know when we’ll see him again. If he doesn’t turn up in Avengers: Secret Wars, though, someone’s going to have to sicc Alligator Loki on the Russos.

Remember when Kang was the anchor being of the MCU’s entire Multiverse Saga? Well, try and forget it because Marvel is very keen to wipe its failed attempt to make the temporal conqueror the new Thanos under the rug. The Kang Dynasty is officially dead — or doomed, as the case may be, thanks to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars now starring Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

That’s basically all we know about Avengers 5 and 6 at this point, so we still have many questions about what this means for the several years of set-up for the rise of Kang that played out across Phases Four and Five. Will this all be junked along with actor Jonathan Majors? Honestly, that wouldn’t be a great loss when it comes to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but what about an exemplary series like Loki? Could any of the cast come back in these Avengers movies? Time is a-ticking, and we demand answers!

Kang may be languishing in the Void, but his even more unhinged ally will allegedly return for Avengers 5 and 6

Miss Minutes winks at Victor Timely in 'Loki' season 2, episode 3.

There has been no official confirmation just yet, but it’s rumored that a certain Loki fan-favorite will indeed return for both Doomsday and Secret Wars. Scooper MyTimeToShineHello is alleging that Miss Minutes, the multiverse’s creepiest cartoon clock, will feature in not just one, but both of these upcoming saga-stoppers. “That psycho is coming back,” they claimed.

Tara Strong’s Miss Minutes became a major mascot for the MCU thanks to her scene-stealing role in Loki seasons 1 and 2, even though she was ultimately outed as a seriously sinister AI, so in that sense it’s no surprise to hear whispers that she’ll be back. On the other hand, Miss Minutes as a character is intrinsically tied to the Kang of it all. The AI assistant was created by He Who Remains and went power-mad after being rejected by his variant, Victor Timely.

That said, she was rebooted into a seemingly more docile version by the end of Loki season 2, so in theory she could return as a helpful ally to the Avengers themselves. Alternatively, it would feel much more in character for her to instead join forces with Downey’s Victor Von Doom. To create some consistency within this saga, Doom will surely have to usurp control of the TVA, and knowing that Miss Minutes loves a man who can take charge she may find herself developing another unsettling infatuation, this time on Doom.

If Doom really is a Tony Stark variant, as has been widely speculated, having Miss Minutes as his sidekick would be a neat inversion of Iron Man’s habit of acquiring AI assistants — i.e. JARVIS and FRIDAY. Again, this is just a rumor for now, but it is possible Kang’s creation hasn’t clocked out just yet. Whether fellow Loki character Ravonna Renslayer, last seen marooned in the Void by Miss Minutes herself, will be as lucky we’ll just have to see.

5 ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ plot holes that could earn Wade and Logan a fast-track expulsion to the Marvel Void https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/5-deadpool-wolverine-plot-holes-that-can-earn-wade-and-logan-a-fast-track-expulsion-to-the-void/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/5-deadpool-wolverine-plot-holes-that-can-earn-wade-and-logan-a-fast-track-expulsion-to-the-void/#respond Thu, 01 Aug 2024 20:40:24 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1733810 You do remember what happened the last time Marvel neglected a character, right?]]>

Breaking the fourth wall and doing things without an explanation is Deadpool’s thing, I get that. Hopping across universes with Cable’s time travel device? Fine, he can do it. Visiting Earth-616 to interview for joining the Avengers about whom he somehow already knew? Okay, nodding along with the Merc with a Mouth. But what about the rest of the unexplainable plot holes in Deadpool & Wolverine?

While Wade being meta just erases every bonkers thing he does, the same does not apply to the people around him who have been pretty ordinary in the first two films: Vanessa, his bartender friend, Blind Al, Dopinder. Anything separate from Deadpool — including situations he has a role in but can’t control — abides by that nifty thing called “in-movie universe” logic and is not left up in the air.

But apart from seriously bungling how time travel actually works in the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine also casually tosses aside the above requirement and creates plot holes that could threaten Wade Wilson and Logan’s ticket in the MCU, pitching them back to the real-life Marvel Void where things that don’t do the studio any good go (see: Kang the Loser). There are many things with this film I’m genuinely baffled about, but these five take the cake.

5. Alternate Logan’s presence on Deadpool’s Earth-10005 shouldn’t be possible

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool and Wolverine

Forget the fact that taming the Time Ripper was supposed to shred a mutant to pieces but barely gave Wolvy and Pool a scratch (it did blast Hugh Jackman’s costume away) ⏤ Logan’s mere presence on Wade’s Earth is a ticking time bomb, nicely described as an Incursion in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Remember how the “Smartest Man Alive,” aka Reed Richards, explained that 616’s Strange’s arrival on Earth-838 “confuses and destabilizes reality?” “The larger the footprint you leave behind, the greater the risk of an Incursion,” he said. Reed was warning that Strange’s presence would “erode” the boundaries between their Earths, leading them to collide and resulting in the destruction of one or both realities. And what’s a “larger footprint” than Wolverine sticking around on Pool’s Earth?

Oof… that’s one hell of a risk to take. Or in the case of Deadpool & Wolverine’s plot, one hell of a danger to completely forget just to bring Logan and X23 into DP’s Earth. Director Shawn Levy might overlook this, but per the in-universe logic, why did the TVA ignore this massive rule? Sure, Logan saved Pool’s Earth and somehow tweaked the laws to join it. But what about X-23? Unless the TVA is secretly planning the complete annihilation of Earth-10005, this is one massive oversight by the studio, and at a time when it had to bring Robert Downey Jr. back from Marvel retirement.

4. Riddle me this: Why was X-23 in the Void?

dafne-keen-x-23-logan

Logan ended on a very hopeful note for mutants’ future on Earth 10005, especially X-23, who transitioned from the kid sidekick needing a Wolverine to save to fighting her own fight. But in Deadpool 3, she is not only missing her accent, but also a reason for being there. Mind you, she is the OG Logan’s OG X-23 — the sunglasses, the same way her Logan died, etc. But why was she pruned? She was in North Dakota when we last saw her and now she is back to needing rescuing from another Wolverine? Was she stuffed into the film for the emotional and fan-serving factor? Or…is the Void glitchy? Can someone enter it without getting pruned? Or did Levy just throw caution to the wind, believing the nostalgia would cover it up?

3. Logan of Deadpool’s Earth-10005 cannot be its Anchor Being

The TVA approaching Deadpool, his Earth perishing, Wade embarking on his insane journey to find a Logan from another Earth, the whole Cassandra Nova drama — it all began, and practically relies on, Earth-10005’s Logan dying. That event kickstarted his reality’s slow erasure and set the entire film into motion ⏤ a film whose events are officially set in 2024 while the story of Logan takes place in 2029. Paradox specified that the decline of a universe begins after its Anchor Being perishes — past tense. So, since the impending destruction of Earth 10005 in the beginning of the film was inevitable, was it dying for no obvious reason? Does that mean the fate of a timeline is not really connected to its so-called Anchor Being? Or Logan wasn’t even the Anchor Being? And speaking of Anchor Beings…

2. If a timeline’s life source is its Anchor Being, how did it survive before their arrival?

Unless the MCU starts peddling the theory of reincarnation, this is one hell of a head-scratcher. How did OG Logan’s timeline survive before his birth if was there when he entered his messy world? If it was perfectly fine until his existence, why is it breaking into pieces after he ceased to exist? And, an Anchor Being ain’t some magical creature — this person will eventually die. What will happen to the timeline then? Is this going to be one of the many Marvel mysteries that take eons to be solved, or will it join the questions about Kang that will never be answered?

1. Has the TVA given up on the multiverse?

Paradox had free reign over his side of the TVA, so much so that he installed a Time Ripper strong enough to erase every reality — including the Sacred Timeline. His idiocy brought it all to a point where Cassandra Nova had the Ripper in her hands and made the frankly brainless plan to end all apart from the Void. And yet, the TVA only arrived at the very end, with only a few security guards and Wunmi Mosaku’s B-15. The entire multiverse, as well as the Sacred Timeline, was about to go permanently POOF, and all the TVA could cough up was a frowning B-15? Wow.

The last time the MCU committed so many mistakes and left so many crucial questions unanswered, the one destined to be the franchise’s “bigger villain than Thanos” got canned. Kang was a disappointment even before Majors added “guilty of assault” to the script, and with Downey Jr.’s comeback as Doctor Doom, it is clear that Deadpool does not hold the position of Marvel Jesus. Marvel has a lot to figure out here, and if it doesn’t do so soon, we’re looking at a timeline in which the MCU might need to get pruned along with the folks trying to save it.

Where are the suspiciously missing TVA characters from ‘Loki’ in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine?’ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/where-are-the-suspiciously-missing-tva-characters-from-loki-in-deadpool-wolverine/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/where-are-the-suspiciously-missing-tva-characters-from-loki-in-deadpool-wolverine/#respond Mon, 29 Jul 2024 17:44:46 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1731818 Where have they gone?]]>

A solid portion of Deadpool & Wolverine takes place in the Time Variance Authority, aka the TVA, but this time around, not so many characters from Loki appear in it. Where are they?

As is always the case when Marvel movies and TV shows cross over, the answer could simply be, “We didn’t have the budget to include them.” Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool even makes such jokes multiple times in Deadpool & Wolverine. However, we believe there could actually be better reasons as to why characters like Ouroboros and Victor Timely don’t appear in the film.

So, let’s allow our fantasies to run wild and take a few guesses about the missing TVA characters we know and love from Loki. That is basically everyone except Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15, who not only makes a cameo but also, understandably so, falls in love with Peter (Rob Delaney) when she sees him in Deadpool’s old suit. Who wouldn’t get rizzed by Peterpool?

Where are the other TVA agents in Deadpool & Wolverine?

Mobius

To start things off, let’s mention Mobius. For those who remember the season finale of Loki’s season 2, Mobius decided to visit one of the earth’s timelines and “let time pass” by having a normal life like every human being. After struggling with saving the Multiverse and Loki’s arrogant humor, we don’t blame him, and it makes sense why he wouldn’t be in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Sylvie

Let’s also take a look at Sylvie, another variant of Loki. Her fate too is explained by the end of Loki season 2, where she announced she’s looking for freedom and new adventures. So she likely wasn’t at the TVA where Deadpool and Paradox started playing cat and mouse because she had enough of the place.

Ouroboros

Ke Huy Quan as A.D. Doug/OB in 'Loki' Season 2 Episode 5.

Ke Huy Quan’s character is arguably the greatest scientist and technician in the TVA, outside of, you know, Victor Timely himself, who ends up inventing the whole TVA to begin with (even though it was Ouroboros who wrote the handbook). Ouroboros’ absence from the movie is actually worrying, especially because so much was going down in Paradox’s sector, what with him trying to erase an entire timeline from existence. You’d think top TVA minds would notice when someone creates something called a “Time Ripper” and recruits arguably the most unpredictable character in the whole Multiverse.

While Hunter B-15 does show up, Ouroboros is nowhere to be seen. However, looking at how seemingly quickly the TVA responded in the movie, the scientist likely had other things on his mind that were more important than saving just one timeline. Maybe he was trying to think of a way to get Loki back from the Temporal Loom without breaking the Multiverse and killing the God of Mischief. Or maybe he’s working on new tools to maintain TVA and keep the timelines in check? I only know a bit of algebra, but I guess challenges like these take more time than the tests in my math classes back in the day. Remember how Loki took centuries to realize what he needed to do in season 2’s finale? Maybe Ouroboros has similar rocket science tasks to solve.

Victor Timely

Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors) raises a hand to interject in 'Loki' season 2 episode 4.

We’ve talked about the student, now let’s take a look at the mentor. Victor Timely was depicted as a hero in Loki’s season 2, but we all know he had the potential to become The One Who Remains. That likely won’t happen anymore because the actor who plays him, Jonathan Majors, has been booted from the MCU due to accusations of domestic violence.

Majors’ absence is likely why Timely isn’t in the movie, especially after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was given a new direction, villain, and directors. Avengers 5 has now become Avengers: Doomsday. But just to theorize, we can make a guess and say Timely is either studying something in the TVA or maybe has been locked in some cell because of his future potential. We’ll never know, and probably won’t need to.

Casey

Eugene Cordero as Casey/Frank Morris in 'Loki' Season 2 Episode 5.

Casey had an entertaining journey in Loki’s season 2. He was your regular white-collar worker who, due to some unforeseen circumstances and some luck, managed to leave the desk for a while, so he basically lived the dream of everyone with a regular nine-to-five job.

Essentially, though, it seems like he went back to paperwork, since he’s not seen in Deadpool & Wolverine, or maybe he just blended so well with the office I didn’t spot him. Or maybe Ouroboros learned he couldn’t take care of everything on his own and hired some help in the form of Casey? Thankfully, our favorite TVA receptionist didn’t join Paradox and his rogue crew of office strikers, who decided to accelerate the ending of one of our favorite Marvel timelines.

Ravonna Renslayer

Now this is a character who had unlimited potential in Deadpool & Wolverine. Renslayer is a former TVA manager who turned into a villain in Loki, and eventually got pruned in the fifth episode of the second season. She was seen waking up in The Void, where the majority of Shawn Levy’s new film takes place. She was also seen near an Alioth, so there could be a perfectly good reason why she wasn’t in Deadpool & Wolverine.

She could have been eaten by Alioth and ceased to exist. If not, then she’s probably taking refuge somewhere in the Void and looking for ways to get out. If that is the case, I wouldn’t side with Cassandra Nova if I were her.

Alioth, the mysterious entity, made an appearance in the recent MCU film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Now everyone’s trying to figure out if this entity has a larger significance in the MCU’s overarching storyline.

Alioth appears primarily in the fifth episode of the Disney Plus series Loki, titled “Journey into Mystery.” It is shown as an all-consuming force that engulfs pruned realities and everything within them. The entity is described as the first being capable of consuming time and space itself, acting as a guard dog for the Void at the end of time. The Void is where all pruned timelines are dumped, and Alioth ensures that they cannot escape or reform. It absorbs the temporal energy of anything it consumes, growing larger and more powerful with each conquest.

This entity first appeared in the comic series Avengers: The Terminatrix Objective in 1993 and has since been a point of intrigue among fans of Marvel’s time-travel narratives. In this storyline, Ravonna, also known as Terminatrix, accidentally unleashes Alioth after attempting to use its power for her own ends. The entity then threatens to consume all realities, forcing the Avengers and Kang the Conqueror to intervene. Kang’s containment of Alioth was a critical part of his strategy to maintain control over his empire. By keeping Alioth at bay, Kang prevented it from devouring timelines that were crucial to his rule and strategic ambitions.

Alioth gained more mainstream recognition in the MCU through Loki, where it was portrayed somewhat differently from the comics. Alioth acts as the custodian of this purgatory, ensuring that nothing escapes and the secrets of the TVA and the timeline remain hidden.

Loki and his variants, including Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Sylvie, among others, confront Alioth after being pruned themselves. The climax of their interaction with Alioth comes when Sylvie decides to enchant the creature, theorizing that it is guarding the way to the true mastermind behind the TVA. This scene is pivotal as it showcases Sylvie’s unique abilities and growing partnership with Loki. The enchantment scene is particularly dramatic, underscored by Classic Loki’s sacrifice to create a distraction, allowing the duo to connect with Alioth’s mind.

The successful enchantment of Alioth by Loki and Sylvie reveals a pathway to a mysterious citadel at the end of time. This leads them directly to He Who Remains, the true architect of the TVA and the one responsible for maintaining the Sacred Timeline to prevent a multiversal war. He Who Remains explains that by controlling Alioth and using it to destroy divergent timelines, he has kept much more dangerous variants of himself and other threats at bay.

As an entity with ties to the Void, Alioth could serve as a gateway to introduce other cosmic beings and realms that have yet to be explored in the MCU. And its menacing presence in Deadpool 3, even at a distance, confirms the Kevin Feige and team have a lot in store for the entity’s future.

‘Someone who we need and who is necessary’: Marvel actor explains why his character is so important to culture and proves he’s the ultimate MCU star https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/someone-who-we-need-and-who-is-necessary-marvel-actor-explains-why-his-character-is-so-important-to-culture-and-proves-hes-the-ultimate-mcu-star/ https://wegotthiscovered.com/marvel/someone-who-we-need-and-who-is-necessary-marvel-actor-explains-why-his-character-is-so-important-to-culture-and-proves-hes-the-ultimate-mcu-star/#respond Thu, 06 Jun 2024 14:23:44 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.com/?p=1705083 As if we didn't already know. ]]>

A lot of characters and stars have come and gone across the MCU’s lifespan to date, and very few of them have stuck around from Phase One up until Phase Five. Arguably the most notable of these Marvel mainstays is Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki, who has enjoyed one of the most transformative arcs of anyone in the entire cinematic universe.

From sympathetic villain to full-on world-conquering villain to anti-hero to actual hero, Loki has been and done everything across his 13 years and counting in the MCU, but why is it that the God of Mischief has struck such a chord with fans and audiences around the world? Hiddleston himself had much to say about this when asked about the malleability and the immortality of Loki as a character, crossing the Norse myths to the pages of Marvel comics to the present-day. The Thor actor told ComicBook.com:

“I’ve realized that, in human consciousness, that’s who Loki is. Loki is this ancient, mythic character who, in our collective mythology, represents the trickster, the transgressor, the boundary-crosser, the shape-shifter. Somebody who’s mercurial and spontaneous and unpredictable, who will always confound your expectations and wriggle out from underneath your certainties and convictions. Someone who we need and [who] is necessary.”

“Maybe Loki escaping death a couple of times is sort of an emblem of who he is in our culture. I spend a lot of time thinking about Loki. You can probably tell.”

Tom Hiddleston arguably knows his character better than any other MCU star

That’s a bold claim, I know. You could easily argue that honor belongs to Robert Downey Jr. instead and I would gladly listen to your argument, but at this point Hiddleston’s boundless enthusiasm and adoration for his character and deep understanding of what makes Loki tick has been proven again and again.

Most recently, it was Hiddleton himself who came up with the idea for Loki to quote himself from 2011’s Thor at the end of the Loki season 2 finale, which saw the character finally sacrificing himself for the greater good. The dialogue choice was such a perfect encapsulation of Loki’s complete character arc — not to mention proof that Hiddleston has an eidetic memory for all of his prior MCU appearances — that it’s genuinely shocking that it wasn’t scripted.

Loki’s place in the MCU is in flux right now, of course, seeing as he’s currently the God of Time and we’ve been told that the Loki TV show is over. With Hiddleston’s continued commitment to the role and this universe, though, Marvel had better bring him back soon. Luckily it sounds like he might be due a return in Avengers 5.

If you’re a Loki superfan, then there’s a good chance you’re familiar with one very special character from the show: Alligator Loki. Appearing in season one episodes “The Nexus Event” and “Journey Into Mystery,” the hilarious scaled Loki variant quickly became a fan favorite. Unfortunately, the alligator that served as the model for Alligator Loki is missing, and its owners sent out a plea for help.

Before we get into that, lets review just how awesome this character is on the show. Alligator Loki has has horns, is green (super important) and hangs out with all the other Loki variants.

The original Loki, Tom Hiddleston, recently commented on the obvious ambiguity of alligator Loki. “The question is, ‘Is he really Loki? Or is he just green?’” Hiddleston told Marvel.com. “It’s such a funny question that [the Lokis] all bicker about. One thing about Loki is that Loki loves to be right. And they all have a different opinion about this alligator.”

As for Alligator Loki’s origin, we know that he was “pruned by the Time Variance Authority” for committing a very serious crime. That crime? Eating a neighbor’s cat. His punishment? Banishment to the void. If you’ve never heard of Alligator Loki, but you’re familiar with the comics, you may be wondering “did I miss this character? Am I crazy?” …While we can’t help you with the latter, we can tell you that you are not wrong; Alligator Loki is a completely original character made specifically for the TV show.

Now to the alligator that was used as a model for the character. His name is Wally The Emotional Support Alligator, and unfortunately he’s gone missing. In fact, someone posted on r/marvelstudios and laid out the whole troubling issue.

It turns out that Wally’s owner, Joie, took Wally to Georgia, where the poor alligator was kidnapped from his enclosure. He was then placed “on another person’s front yard.” That person, not knowing that Wally was one of the most famous alligators around, called a tracker. The tracker came and picked up Wally, thinking he was just another alligator on the loose.

When Joie asked about Wally’s whereabouts, the tracker said he “released Wally into a swamp with over 20 other alligators and said there was ‘little to no hope of finding Wally.'” That’s not a good sign. To add insult to injury, the tracker “has been reluctant to provide additional information and seemingly has changed their story a few times.”

While the owner is devastated, it’s no easy ride for Wally either. Poor Wally had “everything he’s ever known ripped away from him,” which is “extremely worrisome,” because Wally is a domesticated animal that often eats Cheetos.

The writer of the post asks that people go to “Wally’s Facebook page or his TikTok account” for more information. Hopefully they find Wally soon!
